Say No to Plastic.

Ever since the inception of the  ozone depletion, research centres
across the world have expressed the need  of stopping the environmental
destruction. Plastic bags are considered to be one of the most
devastating materials effecting the environment.Use of plastic bags not
only affects the humans but also animal kingdom exposed to it. The use
of plastics have increased to such a limit that one might find it quite
disagreeable  to completely ban the use of it. Be it shopping, food
parceling, couriers all are done with plastics at one or the other
levels. After the advent of stopping plastics to acquire better
environment many campaign, alternatives, movies advertisements started
coming up to encourage the publics to avoid plastic use. Great affords
are taken to educate the world the mishaps of the plastics, just not
its use but its production and dimension.  Banning of plastic bags or
use of biodegradable plastics seems to be a far reach and both emit
carbon gas and other toxic gasses.

The ecological impacts of this plastic include the effect of marine life as well , over a million sea-birds and 100,000 marine mammals killed by plastic. There is no way to strictly limit the effects of
plastic bags on the environment because there is no disposal method
that will really help eliminate the problem. The matter of concern is
the reuse or decomposing process of plastics which affects the
ecosystem . There is no proper disposal method or burning method
without the emission of toxins in the atmosphere .

Fatal Facts

Approx. 100 billion of the 380 billion are plastic shopping bags.

The United Nations Environment Programme estimates that there are
46,000 pieces of plastic litter floating in every square mile of
ocean.

Plastic bags are often mistakenly ingested by animals, clogging their
intestines which results in death by starvation. Other animals or
birds become entangled in plastic bags and drown or can’t fly as a
result.

Approximately 14 million trees are cut down every year for paper bag production.

Picnic parties near beach areas, leftover water bottles, snack wraps
left to disappear in the winds and waves actually settle down in ocean
beds emitting toxins in the waters used by both aquatic animals and
human.

Without the balance of the ecosystem food sources dry up and starvation occurs.

Recycling is expensive, few plants actually does it, rest burn or
landfill it. IN other ways polluting the soils.

Paper bags became the alternative. Increase in  the production of
paper products through specific trees results in alternative
environmental problems.

Paper bags which are considered to be the best alternative too has its
own debates to it which many researchers claims to be equally
hazardous to the environment.

There still may not be a perfect alternative and better ways to avoid
the environmental degradation. But every individual can take up the
task of avoiding the basic use of plastic bags and help create a
better world to live in.
